I have no problem with common sense good environmental regulations. Its when they start issuing ridiculous and insane regulations.
Which specifically do you have in mind here that you consider insane?
Trump is basically gutting the EPA in its entirety here. The more important bit in that news is not the media blackout but the following (from your link):
"The Trump administration has also ordered what it called a temporary suspension of all new business activities at the department, including issuing task orders or work assignments to EPA contractors. The orders were expected to have a significant and immediate impact on EPA activities nationwide."
Trump is pretty blatantly giving industry a blank check to poison Americans. He cares about the money his friends will make not our well being.
So, a underfunded, under utilized government agency that tries its best to protect us from our selves has one major tool, that is information and education, the best thing to do is take away that tool. We all know what information and education does to people. It prevents them from becoming robot slaves. We would not want THAT to happen now would we. Then we start in on the press so only the party line is communicated. The more you control the peoples thoughts, the easier it will be to maintain control. I can hardly wait.
The EPA needs to be seriously restructured and many many of thier ridiculous regulations need to be rewritten or scrapped. It needs to be taken back to an agency mainly focused on human health and pollution without the beurocracy and strangling red tape.
I hope this is the beginning of that restructuring.
Responsibility is a two way street, and many are more than upset with the EPA and it's lack of it.
Environmental Protection Agency said Friday it will not repay claims totaling more than $1.2 billion for economic damages from a mine waste spill the agency accidentally triggered in Colorado...
...attorneys for the EPA and the Justice Department concluded the EPA is barred from paying the claims because of sovereign immunity, which prohibits most lawsuits against the government.

Blame the miners, Or the state of Colorado, for not cleaning it up.
