Default Heads Roll at the State Department

The second installment of my "Heads Roll" series...

Trump administration asks top State Department officials to leave

Two senior administration officials said Thursday that the Trump administration told four top State Department management officials that their services were no longer needed as part of an effort to "clean house" at Foggy Bottom.

Patrick Kennedy, who served for nine years as the undersecretary for management, Assistant Secretaries for Administration and Consular Affairs Michele Bond and Joyce Anne Barr, and Ambassador Gentry Smith, director of the Office for Foreign Missions, were sent letters by the White House that their service was no longer required, the sources told CNN.

...
"Any implication that that these four people quit is wrong," one senior State Department official said. "These people are loyal to the secretary, the President and to the State Department. There is just not any attempt here to dis the President. People are not quitting and running away in disgust. This is the White House cleaning house."

Also note other outlets are stating they resigned, but clearly a spokesman has stated this is White House driven - and resignations were submitted afterwards.

Regarding the firing vs. resignation...

Trump Just Fired Every Senior Manager at the State Department
All four of the career officers had submitted letters of resignation shortly after Trump’s inauguration — a long-standing tradition that empowers the new administration to select its own staff, should it wish to. However, presidents usually do not accept those resignations until successors have been found and confirmed. Trump’s hasty housecleaning leaves a void at the department: Combined with the recent retirements of other senior staff, Wednesday’s departures leave the State Department with virtually no one experienced at managing its domestic bureaucracy, overseas offices, and staff, according to Rogin.

So they actually did resign.

Thanks for clarifying.

Victoria Nuland, the State Department's assistant secretary for Europe, was also not asked to stay on. Patrick Kennedy RUNS the US State Department. He was the one that signed off on Hillary Clinton's email server and heavily involved in whatever went down in Benghazi. Kennedy was the MAIN Alligator in the US State Swamp.

Ex-State Dept. insider: Patrick Kennedy's long history with scandal

Good Riddance!

Yep, I blow up the other thread that some Trump hater started saying that these officials were leaving because they didn't want to work for Trump.

These people were forced out as part of the draining the swamp.

Kennedy was the guy that tried bribing the FBI to change the classification of Hillary's emails in an effort to make this all go away.

Kennedy should be prosecuted for his role in the coverup of Hillary's espionage.
