I was listening to the mayor of our city today, and he brought up the point that it often causes overtime to assist ICE officers and even on the clock officers are wasting tax payers money when they aren't doing their job. I think sanctuary cities have more benefits to the community than negative.

If that's what they think then go for it. The money that they save on overtime should outweigh the lost federal funds then, right?

So these cities should be rewarded for ignoring the illegal status of immigrants which is against the law?
You allow them to stay you should pay for their removal.

He is trying to bully local cities to pay for Federal law enforcement. Miami has said they are happy to help, but they do not have the resources, but they can add resources if the Federal government will pay for it. So far Trumps answer is "obey, or suffer". It is in line with him trying to bully Mexico to pay for his spending projects. Now that he realizes Mexico will not pay he is going to make US consumers pay instead. Complete insanity. He is incapable of seeing the absurdity of his demands.

Why should the federal govt prop up local schools to educate people that aren't supposed to be here?

I'm going to laugh my a** if the new healthcare law that replaces Obamacare requires the states to comply with immigration laws to receive funding.

Obey the law. Stop the anarchy and unnecessary selective neglect risking the lives of citizens. That's why.

All in favor of sanctuary cities should go home with illegals and help them find sanctuary at home. Respect.

Nobody answered me. There is no law that says Philadelphia police need to stop patrolling the streets to chase down people on ICE's lists. If Trump wants to go get all the illegals than he can, why do we need to pay for it?
