Trump is damn quick, you know. No time to waste when you're 70 with a hot wife waiting for you back the home place.

That's what I said. So, if he and Trump are true to their word, they will enforce the Federal pot laws until Congress changes them, which is probably not going to happen.

There is indeed something to worry about, and Sessions just reiterated what it was.
I'm not worried yet. I'm encouraged by this;

No, that's not what Trump said.

Yes and no. There is an Obama/Holder agreement already in place, between the DOJ and the states that have legalized marijuana.

All Trump has to do is officially reaffirm that agreement.

Without that reaffirmation, Sessions is free to keep on being the drug warrior he's always been. Because I don't see this Congress legalizing marijuana - ever.

Yes, he has said repeatedly all laws must be enforced.

What he said 27 years ago is quite irrelevant.

You can choose to get twisted in knots over what MIGHT happen. I choose to wait and see.

Actually, what you chose to do is see something in Trump's actions (it's actions that count, you know) that isn't there.

And then you backed off when it was pointed out to you that what you saw actually wasn't there.

“The United States Congress has made the possession of marijuana in every state, and distribution of it, an illegal act,” Sen. Sessions testified. “If that’s something is not desired any longer, Congress should pass a law to change the rule.”

Trump Attorney General Pick Says Congress Needs To Legalize Cannabis

Sean Spicer, President Donald Trump’s Press Secretary, has confirmed previous reports that Jim O’Neil is being considered to lead the Food and Drug Administration.

O’Neil is not only a strong supporter of legalizing marijuana, he has actively worked towards it as a Board of Directors member for the Coalition for Cannabis Policy Reform, which helped legalized cannabis in California.

It isn't the federal governments call. This has always been a 10th amendment issue, with the alphabet agency by-passing the constitution. Unlike with alcohol and the 2 Constitutional amendments involving that, to take the 10th amendment from alcohol and then giving it back, once realized more harm than good was accomplished.
