In this current world we live in, do I think this is a good move? Yes. Do I believe we as a country have gone too far in becoming the melting pot, opening up ourselves for the dangers such as terrorism growing in our own communities? Yes.
But let's stop being such hypocrites. If every American was DNA tested, I think we all know what the findings would be. Each of us is a melting pot. So now that which has built this country from the ground up is being attacked and walled up. Humans as a whole are two-faced.

There has always been war there, there may always be war there. We can't take in everyone, especially people who's views are so different than our with regards to women's and gay rights and freedom of religion. Christians are the worst oppressed there and we don't take them in and the press never talks about them.

People who tolerate living under Islamic theocracies and who don't care about freedom are responsible for their own plight when their irrational leaders act irrationally and war with each other. You don't get to now be a "refugee" and victimize our country where freedom was fought for and died for. Stay in your own country, fight for your own freedom, and establish a secular government that recognizes individual rights and individual freedom. We provided you with the model for a rational, correct and free society. If you choose to live in the 10th century, then you are responsible when your leaders act exactly as you would expect - irrational mystical tyrants.

This is the part liberals won't and can't answer. There are other countries much closer that speak Arabic and have similar cultures that Syrians do. Why do Syrians have to be taken from their culture and way of life to a place they know nothing about and can't even speak the language?
They would be much more at home anywhere in the middle east and north Africa than in Wisconsin or Alabama wouldn't they if they need to leave a war ravaged zone? It makes no sense.
How ironic. The country founded on freedom of religion is refusing entrance to refugees from a war tron country just because they are a different religion than the majority of us. And you can't justify it in any other way, because there is no evidence these people will be violent. Just because a tiny minority of Muslims are violent doesn't mean all of them will be. This is discrimination, pure and simple.
No, we actually let in Muslims all the time.
The "average" Syrian is like bringing in the "average" 16th century catholic in terms of cultural views....no thanks, I'll take a pass on that one.
