More American jobs going to... Americans. And less threat of terror in our country.

How is this a bad thing exactly? There are plenty of other countries these people can go

But let's stop being such hypocrites. If every American was DNA tested, I think we all know what the findings would be. Each of us is a melting pot. So now that which has built this country from the ground up is being attacked and walled up. Humans as a whole are two-faced.
agreed...

we needed immigrants before and it worked before, but just because America did something in the past doesn't mean we should do it forever. This idea that America isn't america if we don't take any and everyone is ridiculous, how about America looks after America first.

People coming here should be adapting to us, not the other way around.

Sorry, war torn, war schmorn. People are responsible for their leaders. People who tolerate living under Islamic theocracies and who don't care about freedom are responsible for their own plight when their irrational leaders act irrationally and war with each other. You don't get to now be a "refugee" and victimize our country where freedom was fought for and died for. Stay in your own country, fight for your own freedom, and establish a secular government that recognizes individual rights and individual freedom. We provided you with the model for a rational, correct and free society. If you choose to live in the 10th century, then you are responsible when your leaders act exactly as you would expect - irrational mystical tyrants.

The chickens came home to roost, as they simply had to, and now you want to roost in America? And at taxpayer expense? No. Stay in your country and change it to something correct - something that looks like our country. We have provided you with the template. It is up to you to use it.

And America wasn't the massive welfare state it is now

[quote=thedirtypirate;46988057]I think of it more like this: We set the example for the rest of the world and our allies. we should parachute in food and medicines, and support orgs to help them OVER THERE.

I support the immigration ban.

Because we've been watching what has happened to Germany.

This is the part liberals won't and can't answer. There are other countries much closer that speak Arabic and have similar cultures that Syrians do. Why do Syrians have to be taken from their culture and way of life to a place they know nothing about and can't even speak the language?
They would be much more at home anywhere in the middle east and north Africa than in Wisconsin or Alabama wouldn't they if they need to leave a war ravaged zone? It makes no sense.

No, we actually let in Muslims all the time.

The "average" Syrian is like bringing in the "average" 16th century catholic in terms of cultural views....no thanks, I'll take a pass on that one.

Cherry pick from Syrian immigrants? Sure, no problem. 110k in bulk? No effing way.

You really don't seem to understand the issue and crying that it's over ONLY religion is not supported by facts.

The number of refugees to be admitted is being changed to 50,000 from 110,000. That's still a lot of refugees. Maybe one will be coming to your town.
