You think a local judge is going to have more authority than an executive order from the President?
A federal judge absolutely has the authority to put a stop to an executive order. Do you seriously believe presidents can rule like dictators and not be subject to the courts?
I do think the judge made a reasonable and fair decision in modifying the EO.
I agree, it was the reasonable thing to do. Contrary to what is being pushed out there though, the order does nothing regarding allowing new immigrants from those countries from not entering. It only effects those that have current visas. Seems logical.
Executive Orders cannot break the law, and the President is not above the law.
What law did Trump break by signing this executive order? Link please.
What the article said was the federal judge in N.Y. issued a temporary "stay" And it only helped those folks who have visas in hand that are already landed in the U.S. or in route.
Go ahead. The stories of families who went on vacation and can't come back to their jobs, homes, cars etc, of women and children separated from husbands and fathers because one or the other was out of the country when Trump signed his order will proliferate and damage the Trump administration. People wanted to be assured of reasonable checks on refugees not war on legally admitted resident aliens.
Obama does it, and it's okay...
Trump does it, the world has ended...
