If Steve Bannon has his way the Untied States will join with Russia and launch THE LAST CRUSADE against Islam in particular and brown and black people in general. The Donald has not figured this out yet but will undoubtedly think it is a great idea.

And yet once again you ignore all of the historical background. Over 70 years of it and how many nuclear weapons, boomer subs, B52 bombers, cold war bases throughout Europe you developed expressly countering Russia/Ussr drastically changing that "temporary" alliance.

Stalin, Mao and Hitler, circa 2017.

Dangerous times indeed.

Anyone who knows anything about the structural, financial, cultural and national security status of the EU nations wouldn't have even bothered starting this thread in one more lame attempt to diminish Trump.

European leaders pointing fingers at our shiny new president is laughable. These same leaders would be better served doing whatever they can to try and mitigate the damage they have done to their own nations and their own peoples, before it is too late. History will not be kind to these tarnished, corrupt mouth pieces.
Don't attribute "national security" to Trump. Trumpty Dumpty is a blowhard draft-dodging, soft, squishy chicken shi*. He, like most politicians, loves the idea of defense just so long it doesn't involve him.

Yeah, he's "shiny" alright. In the gilded, insular world he lives, how could he not be? (though he's hardly "new." He's very old news to New Yorkers who know better than the rest of the country what he's about).

It's clear you're completely lovestruck, though. Cute.

An increasingly, let us call it, assertive China, especially on the seas, Russia's aggressive policy towards Ukraine and its neighbours, wars, terror and anarchy in the Middle East and in Africa, with radical Islam playing a major role, as well as worrying declarations by the new American administration all make our future highly unpredictable.

For the first time in our history, in an increasingly multipolar external world, so many are becoming openly anti-European, or Eurosceptic at best. Donald Tusk says Donald Trump poses existential threat to Europe | The Independent
He's a threat to their social safety net. He's a threat to public employees retiring at 45 years old and getting 12 weeks paid vacation a year. Because they are going to have to set aside a significant part of their budget to protect themselves. The US is not going to do it free of charge anymore.

Yep, he's a threat to this little toad's existence.

That Bannon guy is a something, isn't he? Isn't it amazing to know that someone who looks like a drunk hobo is running the show?

I didn't even mention Trump in my response. It's clear that he's living rent free in that empty space inside your head. Cute.

Everyone is so shocked, but why? Have you never picked up a history book? We had two World Wars and several other major global conflicts in the 20th century; 160 million people dead in these wars; with huge realignments of power, and very abrupt swerves in the form of government within China, USSR and Germany. Why did we think that the US would be any different or special or immune? Sure, the democratic safeguards in the USA were a little more robust but the reality is that no government can withstand a concerted attack from within by the forces of anarchy. Better buckle up, because "interesting times" are ahead for the whole world.

Go to France and look at all the Muslims living in ghettos. That's the future of Muslim refugees in America if they were allowed in large numbers.

Why do you care about Islam anyways? Islam hates the West and have laws calling for the killing of Jews and gays.

Last Crusade LOL.

My family descends directly from the order of Teutonic Knights of the Holy Roman Empire. My family has been trying to eradicate that disease for 1000 years. Good luck with that one.
