Gorsuch was confirmed unanimously in 2006 to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, so why would democrats object to him now?
Gorsuch was confirmed unanimously in 2006
When he was nominated to serve on the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, Judge Neil Gorsuch was only 38 years old. But he was confirmed by voice vote — which is to say, unanimously. Twelve of the 48 current Democratic senators were also in the Senate then, and not one of the 12 chose to vote against him.
Also not objecting to Gorsuch's confirmation: Former Sens. Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden.
Yep, Joe really screwed up when he made the Biden rule. Are the dems going to screw up again, and make a rule that you can block a candidate for the entire 4-8 years?
He'll be confirmed. I suspect they'll simply circle the length of time Garland was held on the calendar as a matter of irony.
He's conservative for my tastes but he seems to be a good replacement for Scalia in terms of knowledge and capability as much as his spot on the political spectrum. It will be interesting to see how he evolves on the court since 90% of them do.

I don't think there will be much opposition. Some symbolic opposition is expected after all the GOP obstruction in recent years, but I think he will cruise in. Gorsuch was as good a choice as Dems could have hoped for.
I watched his nomination on FOX, which was followed by Bill O'Reilly and he said two things:
1. This is going to change the world as we know it
2. Dems will block it
Neither comment made sense, since the balance of the SC has been pretty much the same for 30 years, and now we have a new nominee who is less conservative than the old one, so how is this going to change everything? And why would Dems block it, when they don't even have the proper means to do so?
