Researchers: Fake News Did Not Alter Election Results

As social media sites like Facebook and Snapchat move to eliminate “fake news” reports from their sites, researchers from Stanford and New York Universities say Americans can be sure of one thing: the phenomenon did not affect the results of the presidential election.

Nor will the actions of Facebook or the likes have any impact on future elections.

I can believe that. The MSM has gotten so unreliable it's hard to believe anything they pass off as news anymore. Mostly it's just opinion with a light coating of cherry-picked facts to support whatever pov they're pushing. Americans aren't stupid, and the poll numbers reflect their disregard for the press.

It may not have an effect on elections.

It does have an effect in clouding criminal activity by certain people.

I believe his argument to be a little simplistic but no problem there. He isn't teaching a class. Someone truly wanting to make their mark should consider what he said.

"The average American saw and remembered 0.92 pro-Trump fake news stories and 0.23 pro-Clinton fake news stories"

Are you freaking kidding me?

Personally, I have never even seen 1 pro-Trump news, fake or real. All I have seen were relentless pro-Clinton fake news, in the thousands probably.

Things like Hillary being a Socialist would seem to me to fall under that category. Heck, I wish she had been as opposed to the Corporate Globalist she actually was.

Your article is completely dishonest. It is a fake news itself.

The fake news was so bad about Trump that even my 12 years old niece in Canada was asking me why we elected such a terrible racist and sexist president.

I can't even name one pro-Trump news, fake or real.

And yet he won......that is the point of the article. It made no difference.
