More interesting still is the fact that a majority of middle-income families and those living in the Midwest back Trump — 51% and 52%, respectively. (Remember when Democrats used to claim to represent these people?)
I've told many of my leftist friends that they shouldn't overplay their hand here. Their constant outrage is not only failing to line up with how most Americans actually feel about the president's actions (and, given how terrible polling was during 2016, it wouldn't shock me if even more actually support the president on this and other issues), but it makes them seem petty and pure obstructionist. Talk about how "obstructionist" Congressional Republicans were all you want, but Democrats have taken it to a new level with their hatred and division (I also note that Obama had FAR more cabinet secretaries approved at this point than Trump, and that was at a point when the filibuster was STILL in effect for cabinet secretaries).

So why do you personally think it is great that a woman who handed over tens of millions to Trump with zero education experience and who wants to demolish public education will be the Education secretary and we'll get another puppet of big business and big money interest as supreme court justice? Whats so great about this for rural America? I dont get it. Whats so great about undoing regulations that protect seniors from getting preyed upon by Wall Street banksters who no longer will have to act in the best interests of their clients?
People SHOULD protest against this, and people are organizing for the upcoming elections. The special interests, big money donors and crony capitalists are destroying the 99% and people are rising up.
Not everyone cares about these meaningless protests about some social justice nonsense. Plenty of people are NOT distracted and actually care about real issues facing the American people.

1) Prove to me that Devos gave tens of millions of dollars to Trump. While its clear that the Devos' are GOP mega donors, I've seen nothing to support such hysterical claims regarding tens of millions to Trump.
2) Zero education experience? Why should Devos have to have been a teacher or education administrator to hold the DOE secretary post? She's had extensive education experience and has seen what works from a different perspective. Moving along, Devos has been very involved with educational reform efforts, and has put her money where her mouth is. Also, support for charters, which is a big part of Devos' educational beliefs, is not wanting to "demolish public education" as charters are public schools (they are simply far removed from the influence of teachers unions generally, which is why the left hates them). We've tried it the left's way for too long and too many children, particularly from minority backgrounds and in the inner cities, have been and are continuously failed. I have no problem with efforts to expand educational choice for parents.

Considering that the countries on Trump's list are responsible for NO deaths due to terrorism in America but that Saudi Arabia, suppliers of most of the 9/11 hijackers is not on the list doesn't speak well for the ability of those polled to know a Dog & Pony show when they see one.

There are some really dense people in this country.

This is good point. The daily violent riots by democrats are not only working against democrat agendas but are numbing any democrat message. The democratic platform is further eroding and left leaders aren't even aware.

Personally, I'm hoping that Devos completely destroys the DOE. Our education system is failing our children every day, and the liberal answer is to put someone in there that will continue down the same road. Definition of insanity....
