Sorry, but the wall is a stupid idea. While I might agree with its goals, its like saying "I wanted my car to be red, so I drove it REALLY fast". Theres some logic to it, but it won't really work.
Mandatory Everify, and pass a law requiring people renting to either be US citizens, or have valid visa's or greencards. Make laws enforcing it have some teeth.

bingo- maybe oh my goodness...pass laws to punish "job creators" for hiring illegals if you feel its a huge problem.....fence or no fence they will come for jobs....personally not bothered by the immigrants, but if its your thing..take away the jobs and they won't come....but heaven forbid Republicans do anything to penalize the job creators....
You forgetting that Germany had 47,000 troops patrolling a 96 mile wall, current boarder patrol agents currently stands at 21,000. Trumps wall would be just over 1,000 miles, with natural barriers like mountains blocking the other 1,000 miles. So to have a Berlin style wall defense, they would need around 450,000 border patrol agents. If you employed non-lethal deterrents like microwave emplacements, I think you could get that wall length to around 300 miles for only the most densely populated areas. Still you looking at a 150k agents to secure that many miles of wall.
450,000 new boarder patrol agents, or how about 450,000 (or 500,000 or 1,000,000) US military? There are nearly 1.5 million active duty US military around the world, plus another 500,000 National Guard and Army Reserves, how about pulling them back to protect OUR borders for a change? They're already being paid so it shouldn't cost anymore to deploy them here than in some third world backwater.

The Berlin Wall separated the city of Berlin in Germany from 1961 to 1989.
A wall will keep illegal aliens out.
Is Trump's wall going to have guard towers, a no mans land in between two barriers and guards instructed to shoot people attempting to cross? The Berlin wall wasn't built to keep people out. It was more of a prison and it's purpose was to keep east Berliners in.
The question is, will the wall work? And is it cost-effective?
