I absolutely agree a woman has the right to choose. BUT, so does a man. Unwanted pregnancy = no responsibility for any subsequent child.
I'm pro-choice and fully agree that if a man states his desire from the get-go, to have a total and complete lack of desire to be a father, he should be able to sign paperwork to that end during a paternity test. Still have him listed as biological father for medical reasons (genetics), but a man should be able to "abort" his legal and financial responsibility to a child he does not want. Neither party should be forced into becoming a parent against their will.
However, if he was supportive of the pregnancy at any point then expressed differently after the medical "abortion cut off point", then he forfeits the right to walk away.
What if she changes her mind? Do you honestly think there are no women who have regretted their choice to abort?
Answer the darn question. Once she aborts there is no changing her mind.
A mans first reaction is often OMG, I dont want a kid, abort, abort, abort. Then after the child is born its a totally different story. As I said my ex DIL's baby daddy wanted her to abort. Now he has custody and is a proud doting father.
I don't know, but I thought something similar. What's to stop her from going to the drug store and getting morning after pills. Of course, I've never been raped or abused so it's possible that the mind of a person in those circumstances isn't exactly clear thinking.
There are also women who may not be well educated on the morning after pill and other possible methods of birth control, before or after sex. I don't mean to sound controversial or offensive but we're talking about Arkansas here. How many women potentially may not have the education or means to obtain something like the morning after pill? In cases of spousal rape, where women likely fear their husbands, how many are going to go out and actually obtain the birth control? But then again, especially if religion comes into play, these women probably won't be getting abortions either.
I think the biggest issue in more conservative states is probably education. They simply may not know that Plan B is an option, and that it's a much cheaper and arguably safer option than an abortion.

Pregnancy is such a different experience for the man. It's hard for a man to connect with the baby, especially so early in the pregnancy when he may freak out and would be more likely to push for an abortion.
yes Im sure it is. My point is what is the point of this law if a woman can just go do it without ever telling her husband.
It's a law with no teeth unless the woman creates a paper trail. And if she's hiding a pregnancy from her husband, one would think she'd use an alias and pay cash. No?

Good. I'm a woman and I'm against abortion if the mother is not going to die. She's worst than her attacker IMO in that case. Why not pick on someone your own size than a defenseless child.

Sorry, I'm not buying any LaLa land fantasy.
Too many "deadbeat dads" disprove your ridiculous fantasy.
