It takes at least three months to get a divorce. Abortion isn't really something you can just wait to have until after your divorce is finalized.

Just when you think that America can't get any worse... Even discounting the rape part, the whole idea that the father can prevent the mother from getting an abortion is all kinds of messed up. Maybe they should add in that if the father does sue, then he has to get a vasectomy, make it a bit more fair.

Then in the context of fairness, which I'm sure Liberals are all about right?, If the man didn't want the child they shouldn't have to pay support.

Oh , its spousal rape .

A pregnant woman's husband will have the power to stop her from having an abortion, even in cases of spousal rape, under a new law introduced in the US state of Arkansas.

While I am not to keen on this , be advised women can come to term and force fatherhood not only on an unwilling husband but on any unwilling man.

Now suppose we agree that the husband cannot prevent an abortion. Lets also agree that a man before the first trimester can opt out of fatherhood.

Not exactly practical, either. What's next, mandatory pre-natal care? Arresting these pregnant women who "accidentally" fall down a flight of stairs?
Suppose the woman being forced to carry the child does all the don't do while your pregnant things (smoke, drink, drugs) hoping for a child with problems that she can abandon or let Dad have??

Pretty much the problem when you start legislating what actions people can take with their own bodies...
