Internet Movie Database, in 2 weeks will shut down all their message boards. I have heard a lot of controversy over their business decision, but could this happen to other sites? Could this happen here on CD?

I'm sorry to see them go. I like their message boards. But in answer to the OP, IMDb is a site about movies and actors. They don't need message boards. If you take that away from C-D there is no C-D.
I saw that the other day, and was disappointed. I always look up people's opinions on movies or a TV show I just watched, as people are more active in talking about different aspects over there. On CD's TV and Movie forum the discussion always seems to general since everyone is afraid of spoilers. Its also difficult to talk about multiple plot lines and such with just one thread allowed for each show or movie.
I don't think I'll really use IMDB anymore. Its easier to just use Google to look up information about cast or movie times... And most the time I just used it to look up an actors height or age, which again can be used with Google. I used to use it to find out if a movie was streaming on Netflix, Hulu, or Prime, but now they only show whats on Amazon. I normally am a big fan of Amazon, but they have really messed IMDB up.
