One can criticize our human rights record and strive to do better without simultaneously and absurdly praising a foreign leader who also has a questionable human rights record, to say the least.
Interestingly, the Russian newspapers were all reporting yesterday that Putin is demanding an apology from Fox News for insulting him. How far will Trump go for him? Will Fox be the next news organization Trump attacks, or will he leave them alone since their articles on Trump have been far more favorable than other news outlets?
Here's a cool little exercise: let's pretend, just for a minute, that President Obama had made the same statement in an interview. Or, we can pretend Hillary Clinton did.
What would the Right have had to say about that? Just curious.

The United States has supported more dictators, more oppressive regimes, watched more people dying, started more wars, killed more innocent people after WWII than all other countries combined.
I may be off a little on my math but you get the idea.
But we are super innocent and have moral superiority.

I believe that one are where both liberals and conservatives would agree is that the United States needs to stop with foreign engagements.
Defend our shores and defend our borders and let others pursue their own destinies whatever they may be.
