Last week, I was SUV shopping and while at the dealership I noticed a really hot looking sedan called the Cadillac CT6-the lines and profile are stunning.

Anyway, the salesman told me that a hybrid plug-in for the CT6 was forthcoming-and that it's being built in China. Interesting.

Anyhow,
I know from past visits to Beijing and Shanghai that Buick has a cool image in China and apparently so does Caddy.

General Motors has been spending billions of dollars on Cadillac, trying to recapture the magic that made the name synonymous with luxury in the U.S. for almost 60 years. There are signs the effort is finally paying off—in China.

Aggressive advertising and a hot new entry, the XT5 sport-utility vehicle, helped Cadillac push past Lexus to become China’s No. 4 luxury car brand last year...

China is getting all the jobs. What's there to celebrate? If Chinese like the Chinese made Cadillac, they would love the American built Cadillac even more. Who negotiated the deal?

I am happy for China, as long as their junk stays in China.

From what I remember is China does not allow the US to import cars there. They have to make them there.

Wow China accounts for over 80% of new Buick sales!
Quote:
Buick is now selling more than eight vehicles in the Asian nation for every one that leaves a showroom in the U.S.

As a result, Buick surpassed 1 million in global sales by the end of September, the earliest date in its history, thanks largely to the 860,384 vehicles it sold in China.

GM's Buick sees sales soar -- all because of China

Why are you buying an SUV?

You can't drive that thing in Berkeley. Your comrades will torch it.
