empathy is both understanding and feeling.

So its not emotion over logic, its emotion and logic.

So then the question becomes, do you believe these people are lying or are you saying that they are overreacting and that the people they have interacted with are just rude and not racist/prejudice ????

There are people who would think that racism is all in the past.

I am an old white woman....probably the least threatened/threatening ethnic group in America. Yet if I get pulled over, I still get a ticket. Do I think I'm being misunderstood? Yes. Do I whine about it? A little.
Some blacks, from the Obamas on down, are playing the victim card at every opportunity, because that is what they are indoctrinated to do.
The subject of the thread may, or may not, have been given advantages, like affirmative action, that most white people aren't. But he's still got more advantages that most people.
If he was slighted at a hotel counter, he should have spoken up, but instead he chose to be passive, then whine about it...his choice. I have a white husband who never sends food back in a restaurant, even when he should, but he doesn't complain that the restaurant hates white people.

Of course racism exists.

I wouldn't take a midnight stroll by myself down Martin Luther King Avenue in any city.

Logic must be first.

And this whole article doesn't pass the logic smell test.

I haven't the foggiest.

Anyone who doesn't treat me (I'm an individual...sorry to all the collectivist liberals) with respect is discarded.

I don't worry about their motives, their childhood, how my reaction "impacts" what a reader may or may not think.

Again, that's being logical and moral if I may say so.

Plenty of racist folks today. Groups too.

KKK, BLM, etc.

I think most of us can think of so many similar examples as the ones articulated in this article. And this same stuff happens in progressive California. Maybe to a lesser degree than in other parts of the US, but I am not immune. There are a lot of stores I boycott because I have been followed around or ignored by sales people.
For someone, who got there they are because of AA, they surely have a lot to complain.

No one promised that this experiment would work out and wind up a utopia. Its not like there are other nations that are non-racist utopia's that anyone can look to and ask why we are not like them.

Anyone who promised that, and wrecked much of this nation as a result, should be held accountable.

Those who feel that the Left owes them a utopia, as per their promises, should get their money back.
