Trump is a trade moron and he is bringing all kinds of deals to Nexico, only he doesnt know it-haha

China just inked a auto factory in Mexico, now this:

Quote:
Between 2005 and 2015, the yearly trade flow of goods between the two partners more than doubled (from €26 billion to €53 billion), against the backdrop of the existing Free Trade Agreement.

Now the EU has said that a new deal would seek to include public tenders, trade in energy products and raw materials, broader protection of intellectual property, more flexible rules on what products can benefit from lower customs tariffs as well greater benefits for smaller companies.

I lived fulltime in Mexico for 5 years, returning to the US because an elderly parent needed our help (he has since passed away). We recently bought another home in Mexico where we will divide our time between the US and there.

I am not surprised that MX is lining up new deals with China, EU and Latin America.

Part of their reasoning is that tRump's inflammatory threats against our allies make them realize he cannot be trusted. Bottom line of all business deals is trust and certainty.

Not only did tRump stiff contractors on his building sites, but his words from the WH are often vindictive and contradictory.

His rants of 45% tariffs, no make that 30% tariffs.....or maybe 20% tariffs.... make for too much uncertainty.

Other countries do not want to do business with a madman.

The only way to keep Mexicans from fleeing their own country is to make it worth while for them to stay. This is a win-win for the United States.

What's with the "tRump" remarks? Kind of juvenile, isn't it?

The doubling of the flow of goods between 2005 and 2015, was that a doubling for each side or lopsided for one "partner"?

Essentially, was there a trade deficit increase, and if so, for whom?

If the US saw an increase in its deficit with Mexico, I don't know who in the US would call that beneficial.

Meanwhile they stay completely silent on the fact that the EU refused to trade with Mexico until it was politically expedient to do so. ****ing hypocrites, every single one INCLUDING Europeans. What a fickle and confused bunch of serfs they are.

Rather than the world lining up for Mexico's defense, perhaps it's just the vultures circling what looks like their next meal.

For the EU a trade deal anything but overwhelmingly in their favor is going to be a non-starter. They barely squeezed out an agreement with Canada, even so it led to hundreds of thousands protesting in Germany and Austria.

I'd not waste mindshare on this until the negotiations are about six months from scheduled ending, given the EU'S ability to negotiate trade deals.
