Basically because American people want to see them, and because Trump promised to release them. People do not like being lied to.

Hardball? Who are you trying to kid? Trump is promising tax breaks left and right and getting little in return.

Trump offered auto execs tax breaks and EPA/mpg regulation rollbacks.

Auto execs were appreciative but said they were still only going to produce the vehicles they thought they could sell, which meant they wouldn't be adding many new jobs.

Trump and Pence offered Carrier multi-million dollar tax breaks in return for keeping 800 jobs, many of which will soon be lost to automation.

"Most of that money will be invested in automation said to Greg Hayes, CEO of United Technologies, Carrier's corporate parent. And that automation will replace some of the jobs that were just saved."

Carrier to ultimately cut some of jobs Trump saved - Dec. 8, 2016

"A recent study by McKinsey & Co. said that 45% of the tasks that U.S. workers are currently paid to perform can be automated by existing technology. That represents about $2 trillion in annual wages."

So the more tax breaks Trump offers, the more companies will automate and lay off those low-skilled workers.

This is playing hardball for the American worker?

Get real.

Trump has whole team of tax lawyer experts doing is taxes.

His returns are so HUGE and complicated that very few could understand them anyway.

Certainly very few on here.

He has been doing this for years and the IRS has audited him MANY times and found NOTHING to go after him with.

If the IRS CAN'T find anything, I KNOW no liberal on here can.

WE THE PEOPLE ASK THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO TELL US WHAT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS DOING ABOUT AN ISSUE:

Immediately release Donald Trump's full tax returns, with all information needed to verify emoluments clause compliance.

Quote:
The unprecedented economic conflicts of this administration need to be visible to the American people, including any pertinent documentation which can reveal the foreign influences and financial interests which may put Donald Trump in conflict with the emoluments clause of the Constitution.
530,317 folks signed this petition.

https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/pet...use-compliance

Will President Trump acknowledge?

The IRS is not looking to verify emoluments clause compliance. The US Congress' fiduciary responsibility to the American people requires them to perform this 'check' on the executive branch. Failure to do so can be an impeachable offense.
