Trump could do something sensible that most Americans across the political spectrum want. Unfortunately, this is unlikely as it would anger his alt-right base. There are a few things he could do though if he wanted to increase his approval ratings and it wouldn't be difficult at all.
Here are a few things that come to mind.
1) Release his tax returns
2) Shut down his twitter account
3) Fire Steve Bannon and/or Jeff Sessions and replace them with people who are still conservative but aren't right-wing extremists
4) De-schedule cannabis or at minimum, commit to not interfering with states that have legalized it
5) Propose a tax cut for people making under $250,000 per year while keeping tax rates steady for the rich
6) Shift to a merit-based immigration policy
If he would do one or more of these things, I think many people, including die-hard anti-Trump people like myself, would be willing to give him another chance.
Thoughts?
I think the odds of tRump doing more than any two (take your pick) of the items on that list are only slightly less than the odds that he'll undergo a sex change procedure over the next 12 months and transform into an ardent feminist.
Infrastructure. Most of the right and left will get on board. Freedom caucus won't but screw them. It directly creates jobs and promotes growth. Also, it gives reps the ability to bring home some bacon. Debt will go up of course.
Before the 2016 election, Trump had the biggest unfavorable of any candiate ever. Obama also had extremely high approval ratings and was constantly batting for Hillary Clinton. This caused everyone to predict a landslide win for the Democrats
Instead
President: Republican
Senate: Republican
House: Republican
Supreme Court: Conservative (Trump could make up to three picks)
State Legislature: majority Republican
Governorships: 33 of 50 Republican
Dems: worst shape since the 1920s and face an unfavorable 2018 Senate map.
All libs have are polls. Lmao
well, lmao I don't think 35% after two months in office bodes well for your guy or the Republican party. This should be his honeymoon with the American people but instead he's dropping like a rock, if I were you I probably would not be bragging

Democrats won't go along with the infrastructure plan he was selling during the election- give 165 billion in subsidies to private companies and let them build stuff that will generate revenue (for them of course). You know, like replacing that highway you drive on to get to Grandma's with a toll road.
So Pew has Trump's job-approval rating below 40%... It's 39% approve, 56% disapprove (adults, Feb. 7-12)"
It's already been the lowest in history since he took office almost 4 weeks ago. The political pros say that slipping into the 30s (where he is now) is a danger zone. And this poll doesn't reflect the big trouble with the Flynn firing and the continuing Russian scandal.
Trump said yesterday Melina's poll numbers are through the roof. Does that poll count?
....were her cloths on or off???What?
