Looks like the White House is only for weekdays. He leaves for long weekends and this includes travel on Friday and Monday. Tue, Wed and Thu are White House days. At least for now.
They should have a travel budget that they can't go over unless there is a declared war.

Well said and that should be true for every president, I understand they may pay for the flights in certain circumstances but the secret service detail with all the equipment is rather monumental.

That will likely change too. After Easter he'll start 'summering' at Trump Tower and other Trump properties that are outside of Florida. The uber rich only 'winter' in Florida.
Yeah, Florida is usually from November - April (usually Easter). After that, they come back to NY. Spend weekends in their homes in the Hamptons, Montauk or LBI (or another Jersey Shore destination) .
My parents are due back in late March lol...
The American people shouldn't have to pick up an unlimited travel budget for our "leaders".
This is something that should be addressed regardless as to who is in the WH.

I agree. However, why should it change now? Nobody tried to change it when Obama did it. I mean some people yelled and screamed but it fell on deaf ears... NOW its all of a sudden a problem we should address?

I wonder if voters knew that taxpayers would be picking up the tab to protect Melania & Young Barron in mid-town Manhattan, trips back and forth to Florida and NYC and secret service details for the other Trump offspring. One thing for sure, he's creating secret service jobs.
