If he didn't want to feel uncomfortable, perhaps he should have stayed out of faces and not forced his sexual proclivities down our throats, no pun intended.
Crazy people: They jump up and down about their pride, then whine and bellyache when they realize people don't want to hear about it!

His sexual orientation clearly bothers you. Why is that?
This guy is delusional. If anything, the NFL would make this guy into a star if it could, just for marketing purposes, depending on the location at least.
He must have just not been very good or he was a major distraction that was taking away from goal of winning games.
Owners don't give a damn about the players. The NFL employs all sorts of characters, ranging from people that do great things for their community, and those that are involved in murders. I just don't believe the NFL has any qualms with hiring a gay person in today's society where it really shouldn't even be an issue anymore.

You've obviously never been in a men's lockerroom. Sharing sexual stories and advertising one's proclivities is par for the course. Ask Donald Trump about that.
Or is it only "in your face" when it's someone whose not straight talking about their significant other or sex life?
When you walk down the street holding your opposite-sex partner's hand, are you "advertising your preference"? But if a gay couple does it, I bet you think they are.
It is not like he is blaming NFL, he just said he always felt like an outsider. I think his story is inspiring. Nothing wrong with it. It is going to be challenging if you are different. This is something everyone has to deal with, not just the gays.
This said, well, I have an one and only gay man acquaintance; he said he wanted to join the Marine Corps. I told him, "well, just keep it to yourself, don't ask, don't tell. Even somebody ask, you keep your mouth shut if you want to make it." He didn't listen, he had a miserable life in Marine Corps, and now all he does is bad mouthing the corps. Thing is, everybody is making fun of everybody in the Marine Corps. If you were a Chinese, they made fun of you; if you were a gay, they made fun of you; if you were a white man from the south, they made fun of you.. Too bad he always thought he was the only one..
David Kopay played in the NFL from 1964-1972. He came out as gay in 1975
You just nuked your own point.
Kopay was not open about his sexual preferences until after he retired three years later, according to you.
