"the blacks" LOL

Black people live all over the United States and around the world.

So "black" food could just as easily be gumbo, shad roe, fried plaintains, roti, jerk chicken, curry goat, succotash, shrimp etouffee, hoppin' johns...etc

Why make something as innocuous as a lunch at work into a political statement?. Wow, you must be a ton of fun to be around in the workplace?
The OP said some of his colleagues who were NOT black had complained.

So, asking if black colleagues were complaining seemed logical.

Exactly. Singling out soul food is a bit insensitive.

I was just waiting to see "watermelon and grape drink" on that menu.

Your coworkers need to STHU and do their job.

I for one would love such a good meal!

Even funnier! Pounding the People and you didn't even read the OP!

Lort, stop. I'm choking on my fried chicken wing!

I'm sure many think it's no big deal, I don't think it's bad. But some of my coworkers are getting all offended by it and getting vocal (within our group). And no, none of them are black.

Has this happened at any of your companies?
They are trying to do something nice. I'd be in the lunchroom macking down on that tasty chow, not online questioning their intent.

I don't care who you are - this is funny as hell. I'm thankful that everyone in my circle of life who is black would laugh their ass off at this.

This is not "black" food. This is Southern food as others have pointed out.
I wasn't the one insinuating it was black food. I stated that IMO it wasn't a particularly healthy lunch. I made no reference to what type of food it was. You questioned where I got what was on the menu and I quoted it from the OP which you would have known if you had read the OP.

Hold on, I have to ask about the purple Kool-aid. Do you mean Purple Drank? I live in a majority black town and that's what they call it.
