Yes, that is a better approach.
Sending ground forces, which is in reference to large numbers of Army and/or Marines non-special forces, will cost dearly in blood and treasure plus it would make America less safe.

And most people didn't like it. But Obama inherited wars from Bush, and greatly scaled back our operations in the Middle East (as he promised to do in his campaign). I wish he had left these countries completely, but I understand why that was unrealistic.
But, importantly (to what I thin you're trying to call a "double standard"), he also didn't run on campaign promises like "No more stupid wars!" like our orange leader did. Or have we already forgotten what Trump said only a few months ago? It's understandably as these first 3 weeks have felt like 6 months on their own...
