Climate change did not produce California’s winter flooding that abruptly ended a devastating drought. That weather swing is just how California works.

California has endured rotating cycles of wet and dry periods throughout its history. If there are weeks of deluge, a severe drought is on the way. It happens every decade or so.

Dam officials should've listened to those warnings about Oroville. Now we're stuck paying the price - LA Times

When even the alt left LA Times says the crazy weather ain't caused by "climate change", maybe there's hope for Calif in 2017.

Perhaps state officials should have spent the taxpayer's money maintaining their infrastructure...instead of on benefits to criminal aliens.

I thought that Cali wanted to leave the USA. Their governor is more concerned about spending money on harboring illegals than taking care of basic infrastructure.

I am fascinated to see this list of posters suddenly arguing that the Sierra Club's warnings should be heeded. Is this going to be SOP going forward?

This has little to do with just Oroville damn. We have neglected infrastructure all of the country while wasting trillions in the Middle East. I don't think the Sierra club was the only critique either.
We just had Flint. What are we doing? Why aren't we fixing this crap.

IRAQ: Reconstruction - Council on Foreign Relations
Author: Sharon Otterman
July 1, 2004
Electricity and clean water supplies are below prewar levels. Of the $18.4 billion in reconstruction funds appropriated by Congress in November 2003, just $366 million worth of work was completed before the transfer of sovereignty. A central goal of the reconstruction was to increase security.
