Over the weekend, Prime Minister Stefan Lofven led a Swedish delegation to Iran. Lofven was received warmly by the Islamic Republic's political elite — Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei tweeted positively about his meeting with Lofven, adding that Sweden had a “good reputation” in Iran — and the two countries agreed upon a number of trade-related deals.
Back home, however, coverage of the Swedish government delegation's trip to Tehran has focused on something else. As Sweden's media noted Monday, a number of female officials who joined the trip, including Trade Minister Ann Linde, chose to wear Islamic headscarves while in Iran.
I really wonder how feminists can solve this dichotomy between on one hand saying women should be free and never under any circumstances be forced to be subjected to anything that could remotely be viewed as oppressive yet on the other think something like this is okay.

There is no "dichotomy." They are bowing to a "religion" that explicitly endorses raping "infidel" women, marital rape, and marying/raping pre-pubescent girls. The "religion" is responsible for the rape of women, the killing of raped women as "honor killings," the enslavement of women and girls, and the murder of little girls who want to go to school worldwide.
That is the reality. If you in any way accomodating Islam, you are contributing to the abuse of women.
Lol to Iran having a good relationship with Swedan. That is because Swedan is a nation of cowards that allows Muslims in to rape their women.
Its the law in Iran. They could either go there and follow their law or not go at all, there was no option to go there and not wear headscarves.
Aren't these the types of women who are into civil disobedience? It's almost like they think the Muslims in Iran will kidnap them and chop off of their heads or something. I was told this type of thinking was Islamophobic.

I have a big problem with women in Europe being told to change their behavior to not tempt immigrants but I have no problem with non Muslims acting in a respectful way when in their nation. When in Rome do as the Romans.
It is important for women to wear headscarves. We all know how Muslim men are so aroused by seeing female hair that they will uncontrollably rape a woman if they see it.
If it's the law in Iran then she should have refused to go.
When you're in the Government you have to conduct official visits and meet people, even ones you don't want to, such is the life of a politician. I don't fault them for wearing the headscarves in Iran, I'd fault them if they wore them in Sweden or suggested anyone else do so.
Government ministers - government ministers can't just go breaking the law on official visits, that sort of thing is frowned upon.
two words..Diplomatic Immunity
