And good for the author of this story in the Washington Post who refrains from piling on to the criticism.

As someone who has never enjoyed sleeping all night with anyone right next to me, it's nice to learn this about the First Couple. People may claim to sleep better with someone at their side, but studies show that sleep quality is often worse in this situation due to the constant movement and sounds coming from the person next to you. You may love the person next to you, but he or she is a distraction when it comes to sleep.

I tend to sleep better alone, too. I'm a super light sleeper and I also sleep hot, so yeah, don't touch me

My husband snored like a freight train so we slept in different rooms; however, we did have a little path worn in the carpet from going back and forth.

Good for her! I know lots of people who have separate bedrooms. Big deal.

LOL at the separate states comment.

If the bed is large enough... unless someone snores or is a restless sleeper, then I fully understand, but otherwise I like to sleep in one bed.

But we are free to make our own choices!

Quality of sleep is SO important. I am glad they are both getting the rest they need!

Well that's very obvious from their body language. Their marriage seems very "contractual"
