Here let me give you an example, I'll even use your scenario not that I agree with it fully but what the heck.
100 white guys work at the poultry processing plant.
100 Asian guys work at the cattle processing plant.
100 illegals (from wherever) show up and start filling in all the jobs at the poultry plant.
The illegals gradually force (attrition etc.) out the white guys because they have few other options and are willing to work hard for less pay etc.
So then the white guys start competing for the jobs at the cattle plant which now has 100 jobs for 200 workers. They stop giving wages etc. because they can much more easily find someone to do the job because it's an "employers market".
Basically, even if you don't see illegals doing whatever job it was that you did doesn't mean there are no wage pressures on your job because of increased workers.
It's classic supply and demand. Please note blue collar wage stagnation in the US, that's not our imagination.
We can exchange anecdotes all we like but it's a historical fact that a flood of cheap labor will be exploited by corporations. It's not like this is a new phenomenon.

I always go back to the employer, though. They aren't being held at gunpoint to hire the cheap labor of illegal immigrants.
Illegal immigrants are taking the jobs away from Americans. The employers are.
the problems are not those jobs it is the ones they sent overseas. Manufacturing -customers etc. and trump employs people from overseas for HIS resort WHY???????????
Illegals hurt people lower down on the socioeconomic pole whatever the race happens to be.
I'm not worried about illegals taking my job because it's a fairly high skilled position. Liberals tend to not wanna be vigilant about protecting our borders and really getting a handle on who comes in and out of the country. Liberals tend to think of themselves as being for the little man and helping the downtrodden.
How about helping the people we have here now, when we get a handle on that we can help others coming in to the country. It parallels the idea that when a plane is in trouble and loses oxygen, the parents need to put the air mask on themselves first, then help their children.
Illegal immigration will hurt blacks more than whites so there's multiple routes you can go there.

I would bet there are sources, but lets just use common sense for the moment, shall we. Not all, but most illegal aliens come to this country without a strong education or skill sets. Thus they wind up doing manual labor, picking crops, being maids, lawn maintenance, etc.
While many blacks have a better education, many are still low enough on the scale to where they need to compete for the same number and types of jobs.
So if illegals will do the work for lower wages, it depresses the wages for everyone to compete for the limited jobs available.
Thus many illegals will get the job over blacks, even if they cannot speak English. Additionally those blacks might get some of the jobs, but the supply & demand equation is thrown off because of the illegals, ergo lower wages. Plus the lower wages blacks must accept to get the job in the first place.
I know a local lawn maintenance guy who is black, and despite owning his own business, struggles to keep afloat because most of the homes hire illegals at cut rate prices. He does not even know how they are making a profit, much less surviving on the limited wages they receive.
It will vary depending on where you live, but when was the last time a fairly large property lot 1/2 acre could be mowed, trimmed, edged and blown all for $25
The poor guy I am referring to needs to charge $40 just to break even with routine expenses, which does not include replacement of equipment, maintenance of said equipment, and still pay his guys (all black) enough not to lose them. So he asks for $60 to do the same job.
Lets be honest, shall we.
How many people reading this would pay $60 every two weeks instead of $25 for the same work?
That is but one example, of the tens of thousands if not millions out there. But you know what, blacks are waking up from the Democratic induced coma they have been in since the racist LBJ era. He figured out a way to keep blacks enslaved by government dependency, and in return get a bumper crop of votes because of blind allegiance.
Some blacks were born at night, but not last night. They are catching on, and it is high time.

You are right! The paying homeowner does not care about things like lawnmower maintenance, etc etc. It is all about the quality of work and who will do a good job for the least...

It's really a two way street, also the egg and chicken deal. Basic supply and demand, let's forget about them being illegal for a moment, if you have a lot of people all clamoring for a job, naturally the job is going to pay less because more and more people will work for less. Same goes with the quantity of jobs, the lower the skilled worker and job type and with a flood of lower skilled people the employer again doesn't have to be so selective about who they hire.
Supply and demand really at the end of the day. If we backed off a bit on the incoming supply, the people here might have more of a chance, specifically the people lower on the pole.

No, they are both equally guilty. No one forced them over the border to work here. If they didn't come here the employers wouldn't be able to hire them. I hold them both accountable as they are both breaking the law.
