True. Everyone did think Trump was going to win. They all predicted it. No suprise. My bad. Im sorry.

Just remember you didn't win because your candidate was an absolute disgrace. You lost. Get over it.

Trumps' presidency so far has been a disaster. He has the lowest approval ratings of a president a month into their presidency in modern history. Numerous Trump supporters have already come out and said they regret voting for him and he seems to won over literally no one who didn't vote for him.

But the most damning part is, he doesn't even need to lose any voters to lose in 2020. Only about a quarter of the electorate, 25.5 percent of eligible voters voted for Trump, which is less than Hillary, but also far less than the huge number of voters who just stayed home.

Hillary was a terrible candidate, deeply unpopular and not trusted. It was basically a worst case scenario for Dems and Americans were so tired of feeling like they constantly had to pick between the lesser of two evils. They weren't excited by Hillary, they didn't like her and they stayed home.

But now after they see Trump and his national embarrassment of a presidency, a lot of Americans are reminded of why it's important to pick the lesser of two evils. Whoever the Dems nominate it 2020, it'll be a better candidate than Hillary, but even more important, Trump has destroyed apathy in this country. People have woken up and realized how important it is to vote even if they don't think either candidate is so great. The important thing is to keep a dangerous idiot like Trump out of the White House.

Hillary already got more votes than Trump in 2016 and yet Trump won the white house in the slimmest of margins in a few critical states to win the electoral college. A deeply unpopular Trump only needs to push the slimmest margin of people who didn't vote in 2016 to vote in 2020 to ensure his own defeat.

Trump supporters thought his election was the beginning of a revolution. Instead it was the last miserable gasp of air for an old, uneducated, hateful and bigoted segment of the population that will soon never again matter in Presidential politics.

Strangely enough, I have nothing to add to your post........it is spot on in every respect.

Nearly everyone thought he was going to lose because most people aren't very bright and don't understand how polls work. That's different than the polls being wrong though. Polls were within their stated margin of error and roughly as accurate as they always are.

Besides comparing voter polls to approval rating polls is nonsensical. Logically you compare them to approval polls of past presidents. Generally Presidents experience a honeymoon in their first few months. Not Trump. He's lower than anyone at this point in modern history by quite a margin.

Doesn't bode well for someone who was elected on incredibly slim margins in a few key states and lost the popular vote by millions in an election with historically low turnout. But hey, I'm sure I don't need to explain this to you, this is common sense for anyone who doesn't have their head up their own ass.

No, we realize it happened. Now we just want his VP to get a promotion.

Not ALL of them--because there are some reasonable Trump supporters who just didn't want Hillary or they are (rightfully) opposed to hoards of illegals disrespecting our borders and scamming the system.

Some of them voted for Trump because they were under the illusion that Dems want to take their guns away. Some voted for Trump because he made them afraid and promised to make them safe. Others thought he would bring their jobs back. Then there are the religious extremists who are angry because their church tells them to be angry.

They were angry. They are still angry and the longer this charade goes on, the more they'll be angry at Trump for lying and making a mess of this country--because he's already starting to and given time, he will.
I agree and there's even a book about it, Hillbilly Elegy (and the word Hillbilly is not used to defame anyone but rather to explain the crisis poor whites find themselves in) Not all Trump voters are poor or white, but a good number of them are angry and feel the system has helped ethnic minorities and immigrants at their expense.

I'm so incredibly over it you can't believe it. Clinton was a terrible candidate and would have struggled to win reelection and dems likely would have remained complacent and lost horribly in midterms. Instead liberals are motivated like never before and Trump is turning a whole generation of centrists off of the Republican party.

Already working on NJ gubernatorial campaign. The amount of energy and enthusiasm is unlike anything I've ever seen in over a decade in politics.

Trump won a battle for Republicans but lost them the war. He's not intelligent and is a living breathing scandal. A total embarrassment for America who will go down as one of the worst presidents ever. It will take conservatives decades to climb out of the hole Trump is digging.

Right-wingers were expecting Trump to make America White again.

Instead, he's making America laugh again.
