Apparently the Donald's press secretary pulled a stunt today and took selected Press Pool members, plus pro Trump outlets, from the daily briefing and moved them to a private setting. Anyone else at the daily press briefing was excluded. When the entire group tried to move with the selected pool, they were blocked.
Bannon said yesterday we "were never going to get our country back. Never". This is another major step in that direction.
Whatever your politics, controlling the Army (cabinet) and now attempting to control the news media are two BIG steps toward an autocratic government. This MUST be stopped before all of our rights are co-opted by a lunatic.
What was the last POTUS that didn't have any "exclusionary" access for some news people or interviewers?
Have you watched many of these pressers? So many of the questions are asked over and over again that it bogs it down. How many times can you Field the same question about a specific LGBT bathroom issue with slightly different wording?
This allows them to have a secondary presser in which they can have people who aren't focused on beating a dead horse.
The fact is the news media is supposed to control the news media and when they finally get themselves under control and recognize what their real job is (to fairly and completely report the news without slant) then their 'access' (which is all that is being perhaps in minor scope being curtailed here - but even then we don't KNOW that) to White House news will probably increase as they become more trustworthy.
I think President Trump's team has put up with more than enough as it is. I personally would have gone much further and taken away the credentials (for access to the White House newsroom/pool, etc.) completely till I saw that things had calmed down and we were turning a corner to some of the these organizations beginning to report properly all they should and stop editorializing everything negatively. If they want the stories out of this particular source, they should cooperate and acknowledge THEIR responsibilities too. If they don't, then fine .. go do local news or don't get the news from the White House first hand any more.
This is what makes this even more worrying - that people actually approve of this move. Have you learnt nothing from history?!
Yes, but VERY bad for you. What makes (the proverbial) "you" think you will be treated any differently under a fascist regime? Why would you be selected out of the entire population when your access to news (TV only gets the Trump News Hour) or your bank accounts are frozen, your guns secured by the Army, or your precious metals seized by the Fuhrer? Maybe your children would be killed because they are gay or didn't produce enough children to work the mines or strip the national parks of timber? Maybe you didn't pick enough corn today, so you are sacrificed too.
How can you possibly think that would be better than the Democratic Government which we have now? And we know from history that it can and does happen.

The press has no right to be continuously briefed by the president and the WH, you do realize this correct?
