A 3rd century solution to a 21st century problem. How embarrassing. How stupid. What a waste of money.

I think it should be modeled on the Berlin Wall.

Guard towers, electrified barbed wire, snarling barking dogs, search lights, sirens, automatic machine guns.

And have the guards use the same uniforms -- cool.

Bully for you, but don't expect any sympathy unless your "better use" involves personally clothing, housing, and providing medical care for illegal aliens, and their offspring.

Until then, you're in the same boat with the rest of us.

Mexico is paying for the wall. ICE raids have the illegals rattled, hiding, and self deporting. This cuts into their "productivity", as well as their willingness and ability to game our welfare programs. That equals fewer US dollars going over the border already.

The illegals will gravitate towards the sanctuary cities, where, once concentrated in those areas in ever larger numbers, it will streamline the deportation process. At the same time it will make the job of prosecuting the so called citizens that aid and abet illegal aliens easier as well.

Trump, is winning.
Mexico has begun paying.......

They'll have to find a way to achieve the look while designing for warmer weather.

It can get very hot and humid in Berlin in the summer.

So they should use whatever the East German guards wore then as a model.

It would be interesting to see what the specs for the "wall" are.

Is it a wall or a fence? How high a wall?

I think that Congress authorized a wall years ago, but as to the specifications, I haven't a clue, and although a President has some descretion and can move some funds around, he can't come close to paying for something like this without an appropriation from Congress. Whatever was authorized way back then wouldn't carry forward.

This smells more like a publicity stunt than anything else.

Just some red meat thrown at the base to quench the mob. He'll put a couple trucks full of materials, some guys in hard hats working in the desert with lots of news coverage and they'll work on the same 20 miles of it for the next 2 years.
How the heck could any contractor have all the cost estimates in for a 1754 mile wall by the 27th of March?

Bid Contract: Federal, State, Local Government Contracts & Bids Notification

let me know when you see on here-.... then will believe it,

Now just because there is a bid, does NOT mean there is: funding, planning- architecture, drawings, soil samples, private property concerns- wildlife- supplies, workers, permits etc etc etc - there is NO microwave wall

but once the bid is in... he has fulfilled his promise folks-- go kiss him

Note to POTUS: Why not use convict labor to build the wall and circumvent the "prevailing wage" statutes for construction workers that massively drive up costs?
