These folks were charged under Georgia's street gang terrorism law.
"(a) The General Assembly finds and declares that it is the right of every person to be secure and protected from fear, intimidation, and physical harm caused by the activities of violent groups and individuals. It is not the intent of this chapter to interfere with the exercise of the constitutionally protected rights of freedom of expression and association. The General Assembly recognizes the constitutional right of every citizen to harbor and express beliefs on any lawful subject whatsoever, to associate lawfully with others who share similar beliefs, to petition lawfully constituted authority for a redress of perceived grievances, and to participate in the electoral process.
(b) The General Assembly, however, further finds that the State of Georgia is in a state of crisis which has been caused by violent criminal street gangs whose members threaten, terrorize, and commit a multitude of crimes against the peaceful citizens of their neighborhoods. These activities, both individually and collectively, present a clear and present danger to public order and safety and are not constitutionally protected.
(c) The General Assembly finds that there are criminal street gangs operating in Georgia and that the number of gang related murders is increasing. It is the intent of the General Assembly in enacting this chapter to seek the eradication of criminal activity by criminal street gangs by focusing upon criminal gang activity and upon the organized nature of criminal street gangs which together are the chief source of terror created by criminal street gangs.
(d) The General Assembly further finds that an effective means of punishing and deterring the criminal activities of criminal street gangs is through forfeiture of the profits, proceeds, and instrumentalities acquired, accumulated, or used by criminal street gangs."
These two have three children together and though unmarried, they are reported to be devoted parents.
So these two "devoted" parents spend two days at a drunken melee, driving around, shouting out racial slurs, and terrorizing people with guns. Woman says she now regrets going back for the second day. I'll just bet she does.
The police don't arrest anyone until the 911 calls start piling up. What's that all about?
If they are heading off to spend years in a Georgia prison, they better buck up. Trembling and sobbing isn't going to go far in there.

Also, they may want to clean up their language.
They should have thought of their children before harassing people, especially children, with a gun.
So these two got caught up in a law meant to throw the book at black street gangs?
Well, if that doesn't beat all.
I dunno. I doubt most Georgians would be any fonder of skinhead gangs.
I'm sure the Georgia legislature meant this law to apply to everyone, no matter their skin color. Because you have to admit it's pretty rotten behavior, and no neighborhood should have to put up with it.
No...it is *NOT* legal. This was settled by the supreme court and frankly in the civil war itself.
"Texas v. White, (1869), U.S. Supreme Court case in which it was held that the United States is “an indestructible union” from which no state can secede.
Thus, the Supreme Court decreed by law what the Union’s Civil War victory had effected by force, namely, the principle that no state may secede from the Union."
Could you please go over to the California forum, specifically the CALEXIT thread, and inform them of this. They don't seem to understand it. Those of us from California who don't want to exit would sure appreciate it.

All those calls to the police over the course of days? You already know what thats about. They probably should've called 911 and said some young dread head was in the cul-de-sac letting off rounds. The whole cavalry would've been there in 3 minutes flat.
I doubt they'll have to worry about harm behind the walls though. They'll both be in PC, 23 hour lockdown in an isolated cell. The GA Corrections Dept is one of the worst in the country, no way they throw them into the Terrordrome that is Gen pop. But after a few years of that torture of being alone all the time they may very well wish they were in Gen pop so that they could get that issue and get it over with.
Sound like a gang to me for sure so definitely agree with the gang law being used but I really dislike the American system of plea-bargaining. It smacks of bullying to me - the typical playground bully threatening a much worse action (longer sentence) if they don't hand over their lunch money (give up their right to a proper trial). Confessing should bring in some consideration e.g. minimum sentence but people shouldn't be pressured into confessing to avoid extreme sentences - everyone deserves a fair trial, even the worst people.
