Because you are no longer free, or they would not be able to take it at gun point.

Because of "rationalization".

It is the same process a criminal uses to justify a rape (she deserved it because of the way she dressed, she was asking for it, etc...), theft (I need to live, they have what I need, I need it more than they do!), murder (they are evil, they offend me, they are racist, they are selfish, they didn't give me what I deserved, so they were wanting me to die!).

Rationalization is at the heart of criminal thought, it is the base process criminals use to justify their actions.

This process is used all the time to justify theft by government, no different than what the individual criminal does. That is (they have more than me, I deserve it!, they don't need that much, What about me? Aren't they selfish for living better than I? I am justified in demanding from them, they are evil to keep more than they need, etc..)

The government is criminal because the people are criminal. The government is a reflection of the people, as the founders consistently pointed out that only a moral and virtuous people could insure liberty and freedom, for it would be the masses of self interested parties who would eventually use government to subjugate the minority to their will and the politicians would sell favors of such nature to obtain continued powers.

Fact is, until you get the people back to being moral and virtuous, theft by the majority will always be rationalized to a noble intent.

Oh brother.

This is going to go over well with this group here at C-D.

"Cuz the social contract" is going to be your answer in a nutshell.

Are you the type of guy who wants taxes to be optional...which would result in utter madness? If not, some "stealing" is inevitable.

Are you the type of person who wants taxes to be optional? Why do conservatives like to pretend like there's some point where reasonable taxation ends and "theft" begins with taxes? We're free to vote on taxes. We're free to complain about them if we don't like them. That's all the freedom we need.

It's not theft when you have a choice. When you're 18, you're free to leave any time. Otherwise, that's the price for remaining within society.

It's better than the whole THE LIBERALS ARE THIEVING BARBARIANS nonsense. If liberals are thieving barbarians, conservatives are necessarily either slightly less enthusiastic thieving barbarians...or they're maniacs who want taxes to be optional or something.

Why complain about me when all I'm doing is gunning down some right wing propaganda.

If a man stands in one place without committing an act of aggression against another and doesn't utilize governmental services will he be left alone?

Hint: Hell no!

I'm just gunning down statist propaganda.

Being a crazy anarchist has its perks.
