Lots of fatties in those 2 states in particular.

But, hey, some Oil guys get to pay less in taxes and that is what they think Freedom is.
All the stats include our millions of poor illegals.

Throw 400,000 illegals from south of the border in MA and see what happens to many of those stats.

I live in the #11 state (VA) but would move back to the #42 state (KY) in a heartbeat. The best place to live depends on the person.

Absolutely.

Some people will put great value on museums and little on how many months out of the year you can wakesurff without a wetsuit, while I put wakesurfing way above museum access.

Different strokes for different folks.

Yes, it depends on what suits you. I live in MA but they're mostly counting the Boston area which I don't care about. But New Hampshire came in second--it's a pretty good state but lots of guns. Of course they have more forests for hunting so it makes some sense.

Connecticut came in 12th--that is one state that really suits me. Strict on guns, nice people, no snooty Boston types (not all Bostonians are like that, of course), nice beaches, different environments like rural towns, fairly large cities, good schools. I think CT will develop a state health insurance plan too if the Repubs leave people hanging.

I'll put it this way: I'd choose LA or MS any day of the week before NJ or any other NE state.

Exactly. There will always be nice areas of America -- for those who can afford it.

The states with higher income inequality took a hit so they did take that into account going by their methodology so I give them props for that.
