On Tuesday, Republicans in the House Judiciary committee killed a measure to examine documents related to Trump's ties to Russia, as well as conflicts of interest stemming from Trump's business organization.
"The measure, known as a “resolution of inquiry,” was defeated on an 18-16 party-line vote. The resolution would have requested that the Department of Justice provide Congress with “any document, record, memo, correspondence or other communication” related to “criminal or counterintelligence investigations” involving Trump or his White House staff."
Instead, Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.), the Judiciary Committee chairman, announced plans to send a letter requesting that Sessions “proceed with investigations into any criminal conduct regarding these matters."
Then on Wednesday we learn that Sessions lied in his confirmation hearing about his own communications with the Russians ambassador during the campaign.
It is beginning look like every time Congress backs off from doing its job of looking into these matters, more information appears on the Trump-Russian connections.

It's not going away. If there's really no story as people like Spicer keep saying, allow an independent investigation and get on with it.

Sessions allegedly talked to the same ambassador that Gen. Flynn did. This is Trump's Watergate.
Wouldn't it be funny if it turns out that Hillary was the one that had some Russian ties? Watch the dems go from witch hunt to defense/damage control real quick.
We know she did when she was SOS: gave 20% of our uranium to the Russians in return for a donation to the Clinton Foundation.
Odd that the Republicans in Congress are investigating Trump, but not the Clintons (and Obama, Holder, Lynch, Koskinen, etc).
Trump supporters should be burning up the phone lines to Republican leaders demanding that they stop the nonsense and get to work passing legislation to enact Trump's agenda.
He's the only reason that they have total control of the government. None of their other candidates would have won.
You guys always say that when you're busted -- LOL.
