Personally, I think talking to them isn't a terrible thing, but why didn't the people who are freaking out over it say anything about them being over here until now?
We have diplomatic relations with lots of hostile governments. The point here is not whether we talk with them, it is whether (a) someone is making promises to them when that person is not a diplomatic representative of the US government (it is a violation of the Logan Act), and (b) someone who talks to a foreign government but then lies about it when asked.

Because all this Russian stuff is horse poop spread by the Democrats in order to deflect from the sins and crimes of their candidate, Hillary Clinton. I think maybe they missed the news that the Cold War had ended, they seem to have problems keeping up!

Remember when Hillary loved Russia? https://www.nytimes.com/2015/04/24/u...pany.html?_r=0 and Bill, too, with the $500,000 speaking fee? I suppose Russia didn't want to see Hillary Clinton elected, "pay for play" is obviously very expensive.

It just came across as ignorant. Most of us knew the Cold War with Russia ended quite some time ago. It was a "diversion" and not a good one by the Democratic Party.

Anyone that cares about the world knows that world leaders must be able to work together if ISIS is to be stopped. Of course, Obama and Clinton thought if we just ignored them and didn't give them attention, they would stop although Hillary was ready to go to war over her email server being hacked. She is so screwed up!

Most countries maintain Diplomatic relations however this does not neccessarily mean they are allies or enjoy some form of friendship. Even at the height of the Cold War, there were Embassies in each others countries and even countries such as North Korea and Iran maintain Embassies.

Indeed in 1980, there was siege at the Iranian Embassy in London, and the SAS famously stormed the Embassy at Prince's Gate, whilst today Julian Assange resides at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London in oder to escape the authoties. Pamela Anderson is a regular visitor and brings the little albino fella a red cross parcel every now and again.
