Climbing this $4 million/mile fence is fairly easy.

Razor wire, electric shocks, guard stations manned with snipers... it all sounds so wonderfully Mad Max.

How about just penalizing employers who don't follow the law?

It's how other nations do it and seems to work for them.

Employers are already forced to be tax collectors, and neither they should not be tasked with immigration duties.
Build a welfare wall and privatize the border.

I'm glad he pointed out that razor wire needs to be on the top. Luckily, that's a pretty cheap add-on.

What is the plan for all the land that's privately owned? That could tie them up in court for years.

Thanks for posting such easily refutable nonsense.

U.S. law already requires that companies employ only individuals who may legally work in the United States.

Requiring them to run their new employees' documents through eVerify https://www.uscis.gov/e-verify
is not "tasking them with immigration duties."

ICE is still "tasked with immigration duties." Over the years, there have been ICE raids on everything from poultry plants to Chipotle restaurants.

The problem is that the penalties are not sufficient to discourage illegal behavior by employers.

That could be changed in short order and at a lot lower cost than building a "welfare wall" and privatizing the border.

Though the privatized border would certainly be a boon for the companies that scam their way into these contracts.
