Accept him is correct, not except him.

Re one example, you apparently didn't hear Robert Kraft (the owner of the Patriots) when asked about Trump during an interview in Houston before the Super Bowl. They've never done business together, and have been friends for over 20 years. When Kraft's wife Myra died, only about 5 friends called him every week for at least a year to make sure he was okay....and Kraft said that Trump was one of those friends.

Perfect? How about if the people who elected this ignorant lunatic could at least function at a 3rd grade level? Wouldn't that be nice? It would be somewhat comforting if one could go through these threads without being troutslapped in the face by the glaringly obvious fact that every single human being who voted for this simpleton is clearly a moron.

Like anyone who was feebleminded enough to vote for the Trump creature is ever going to be smart enough to make a genuinely intelligent decision next time they cast a ballot? What a stupid thing to say. Morons are morons, and they'll always be morons no matter what the kids who paid attention in school say about them. Don't blame your stupid decisions on people who are smarter than you.

Anyone who wants the world to know he washes his small hands with gold plated faucets is dealing with a fair measure of insecurity.

Big difference.
He made it largely by inheritance. He's probably lost a good portion of what he personally earned. That many lawsuits and bankruptcies had to be bad for his bottom line.

He's tacky. Yes, plenty of celebs are tacky, too.

That seems like a solid reason. What happens if I call you a Bible-thumping hillbilly? You'll deport some more Mexicans to get even?
LOL so you STILL aren't listening? That's one of the reasons why Democrats lost the election.

I think different people have different idea and definition of what "rich" means.

I came from an upper middle class beach community, but I cannot say that I have truly met somebody super "rich". My family and friends are comfortable upper middle class at best and most of us (even with trust fund) have to work very hard to maintain our life style. For example, I work 11 hours a day on average because I want to be able to retire by 40. This is my goal. (I am working right now)

People want to invest like Warren Buffet, But few mention that he spends more than 5 hours a day reading 10-K reports. Most amateur investors might read magazine article (and drink the writer’s Kool-aid), possibly scan a research report (only to confirm what they think about a stock), but rarely do they go through the company’s annual report cover to cover. The 10-k? Most people don’t even know what it is, a super technical, long-ass reports that companies send to the freaking SEC.

I am lucky that I have a good family. If I only have myself to depend on, I perhaps will be a working poor for the rest of my life. With my family, I can be able to maintain my upper middle class life style. I doubt I will be super rich.

This said, I don't care about Trump's gold or his ties or his wife or daughters' clothing. I just want to be able to retire at 40, means, buy several houses in Europe, travel, start my own non-profit organization, have an art studio, play sports, etc. Enough to make me happy.

For a public example of how 'restrained' old money Manhattanites react to Trump (body language, facial expressions, etc.) think Anderson Cooper). IMO, part of Trump properly dismisses this, but another part of him is quite bugged by the lack of acceptance. I also think another poster (not the one you were responding to) on this thread got part of the puzzle right when he said that there is a certain part of Trump that represents anger re not being loved. That poster didn't elaborate, but I imagine he meant love withheld (conditional love) re his father Fred. I also think that that withheld love contributes to his relationship (in a good way) with his granddaughter Arabella. I heard someone say recently that the only thing that isn't overrated is being a grandparent. At some point before the RNC, Ivanka was walking with Arabella, and Arabella dragged her over to look at something. Arabella (age 5) pointed to a pothole, shook her head, and said "grandpa wouldn't like that". After the election, but before the inauguration, the background on this filled in....Trump (pre candidacy) enjoyed walking through the city with Arabella and pointing things related to construction out to her. As I see it, many people think that Trump's defensive, some might say aggressive, nature is 100% re his insecurities. I don't agree. I thing his nature is partially due to those insecurities (both 'a father withholding love' and not being accepted by old money Manhattanites), but I think those aspects contribute under half. I think most of his nature is re, for lack of a better way to put it, a sort of 'outer borough, me against the world' attitude about Manhattan (and by extension, the world) that isn't necessarily unhealthy....it might be in his particular case, but it isn't 'by definition' unhealthy. IMO, his makeup isn't 'simple'. He's an 'unusual cat', as some might say. I do think that to whatever degree he has a 'Pinocchio' nature, that that part of him is attributable to his insecurities....which I think is also true of other politicians...we just hear about it more with Trump because he's more universally hated by media elites.
Great points!

This is true. I had read that if he had just held onto all the properties he inherited in Manhattan. All of them would of been worth more, than all the $100's of millions he borrowed and lost in bankruptcies. In comparison, Trump is to rich, as KFC is to chicken.
