There are 2 ways this ends:

1. There were never any wire taps on Trump Tower or any of Trump's surrogates. That means that Trump will have made one of the biggest accusations of a sitting president ever, and it turned out to be false. Very, very embarrassing for President Trump.

or

2. There WERE in fact wire taps, which means that, FBI officials had enough evidence wrong doing concerning Trump or those close to him to convince a federal FISA judge to issue a warrant for wire taps.

Trump (and his supporters) lose either way. That's what is so funny about this entire wire tap situation.

I suppose you have asked every single one of them.

You used the word "most" which means that there IS a possibility that a few could fall into the category.

Lois Lerner comes to mind.

How about the ones who wiretapped the journalist James Rosen?
Even Rosen says he wasn't wiretapped.

"They then bring "the case" to the appropriate legal branch to prosecute or not"

True, usually.

Why didn't Comey refer the Hillary email investigation to the DoJ AFTER he laid out the classified material that she received and had and sent from he PRIVATE server?

The law is VERY clear.

Default The Unbelievable Timeline of Leaks Relating to Donald Trump and Russia

Another timeline. We should have a whole thread on timelines. I'm sure the left has their own.

Let’s be perfectly clear here: The scenario painted by President Trump of his predecessor tasking the IC with wiretapping Trump Tower simply could not have happened without a far-reaching and highly illegal conspiracy involving the White House and several of our spy agencies, above all the National Security Agency. My friends still at NSA, where I served as the technical director of the Agency’s biggest operational division, have told me without exception that Trump’s accusation is wholly false, a kooky fantasy.

In the first place, the White House doesn’t ask for such wiretaps, ever; such requests come directly from NSA, the FBI, or the Justice Department. Involvement of any White House in such highly classified requests would immediately set off enormous red flags in the IC and DoJ due to their glaringly political—and therefore illegal—aim.

There’s a special top secret Federal court that handles such sensitive warrant requests, which are issued under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978, which allows for intelligence gathering against foreign spies and terrorists. They key words in FISA are the first two: foreign intelligence. Warrants are only issued against foreign targets which are deemed to be plausibly involved in espionage or terrorism against the United States.

However, Americans who call or email those suspicious foreigners may appear in signals intelligence collection, although under FISA their identities are concealed in SIGINT reports in a process the IC terms “minimization.” In other words, your civil liberties as an American do not include the right to communicate with foreign bad guys without possible monitoring. Keep in mind, though, that under FISA the people being targeted are foreign spies and terrorists, not Americans.

Having worked with a lot of FISA collection during my time in the spy business, I can state without reservation that President Trump’s accusations are so inherently implausible as to render them an absurdity. He needs to offer hard evidence for such incendiary claims or back down publicly, preferably with an apology to his predecessor, whom he has maligned without cause.

That said, given the now-known contacts between Team Trump and high-ranking Russians last year, it’s very plausible that NSA and other spy agencies intercepted Kremlin communications which might have incidentally involved associates of our current president. But neither Donald Trump nor his surrogates were being spied on as themselves. If they didn’t realize their shady Russian friends might be considered foreign intelligence targets by NSA and other Western intelligence services, that’s on them.

No really skins, you can't spy on your political opponents. The question is, did Lynch consult with Obama or did she go behind his back.

Wrong. "It was a YouTube video" Obama was never removed, so anything goes now.

"THE BEST DEFENSE IS A GOOD OFFENSE."

We've all heard that one, right?

We also all know (or should by now) that Trump has demonstrated his favorite strategy when it comes to fighting his enemies, by way of litigation, with over some 3,500 legal actions to consider, and why not, right?

Obviously, one of the best ways to get someone to "think twice" is to counter sue, whether the counter suit is warranted or not, and especially when you have the power and resources to do so, why not? For Trump and a good many others it doesn't really matter what is right or wrong, truth or not. What matters is what you can do to thwart your enemies.

Trump is simply doing what he has been doing with his own business for decades, and now all Americans are tangled up in the proceedings and either loving it or hating it just like some love and/or hate a good reality TV show! This latest episode one of the best yet! Why bother with true governance when there is so much entertainment to be had and enjoyed?

With FDR the "new deal" was essentially about programs to help Americans recover from the Great Depression.

With Trump the new deal is more like a TV program to help Americans learn who we really are.

"Admit nothing. Deny everything. Make counter accusations."

Right out of the lose cannon playbook and what continues to be Trump's M.O.

Stay tuned! More to come!
