Precisely ... how can you expect the House Intelligence Committee to function well after this little show. Someone somewhere has got to be desperate. Congress must think Trump a buffoon, albeit a useful one. Maybe they will do ANYTHING to try to shore up some of his credibility, even torpedo their own Congressional mandate.

This government is looking more pitiful by the minute. And so ironic that Nunes would start leaking not two DAYS after a hearing featuring that very same topic.

Edited to add - And not 8 minutes later:
Quote:
President Donald Trump says he feels "somewhat" vindicated by House Intel chief Devin Nunes' White House visit to discuss potential intelligence collected on him.
Here we have it. No doubt that will feature bigly on Hannity. It's all so very predictable.

They are openly sharing information. Nunes and Schiff are giving press briefings for some time about these investigation. I have seen giving few pressers before as well related to intelligence briefings. They should have set some guidelines.

Bottom line, Trump made yet another false accusation.

It isn't the first and I doubt it will be the last.
Yeah, yeah we know...... Even if the head of the CIA/FBI came out and said "yes, we had surveillance on Trump Tower at the behest of the DOJ (a wholly controlled entity of the President) you'd still do your best to spin and twist and say Trump was lying...

A non ideologue or at least someone with an open mind would say "hmmm, that's an interesting revelation by Nunes and certainly something to look into", to see if it actually has substance.

But we all know that's not you...

True ... but this is information that Schiff knew nothing about. Nunes referred to "sources" sharing intel reports. It really sounds like Nunes is now operating outside his role on the Committee - although using his title to give credibility.

Doesn't sound very ethical, even within the current loose "rules."

Well, we know the FBI had surveillance on Trump Tower at one point in time.

Quote:
There, indeed, was an FBI wiretap involving Russians at Trump Tower.

But it was not placed at the behest of Barack Obama, and the target was not the Trump campaign of 2016. For two years ending in 2013, the FBI had a court-approved warrant to eavesdrop on a sophisticated Russian organized crime money-laundering network that operated out of unit 63A in Trump Tower in New York.

The FBI investigation led to a federal grand jury indictment of more than 30 people, including one of the world’s most notorious Russian mafia bosses, Alimzhan Tokhtakhounov. Known as the “Little Taiwanese,” he was the only target to slip away, and he remains a fugitive from American justice.

Seven months after the April 2013 indictment and after Interpol issued a red notice for Tokhtakhounov, he appeared near Donald Trump in the VIP section of the Miss Universe pageant in Moscow. Trump had sold the Russian rights for Miss Universe to a billionaire Russian shopping mall developer.
Russian mafia boss still at large after FBI wiretap at Trump Tower - ABC News

So the question is whether Trump was picked up on a call with a Russian crime boss in Trump Tower? This question is preceded by the question what is a Russian crime boss doing in Trump Tower?

Trump's not Nixon...
...yet.
Hopefully, somebody with an actual sense of morality will report to Congress if and when he starts to talk to the portraits on the wall--as Nixon did in his final days.
