Yeah lets carve up the country along political lines,that will some how make America great again?
This time last year i would have thought this to be an absurd proposition but in todays America i dont see how we solve the hate for each other so perhaps the country should be split up,we can have 50 separate little countries.

The Coast (all liberal states on the pacific) have access to trade (China) and ports. They are the ones profit off of undercutting and outsourcing jobs of inland america.

Honestly, I think Canada would LOVE to add the Seattle metro with all we have in economy, educated populace and beauty. And I would love waking and being told we no longer have to listen to the latest Trump scandal on the news. There is absolutely no downside to Western Washington merging with Canada, Canadians come here constantly as our parking lots and highways show every day.
The Central valley has quite alot of red counties that went for trump and is very dependent on water from the proposed state of Jeffersons counties in northern California and the sierras, some of it falls in the state of Jefferson. Jefferson isnt some fly by night secession movement either, there is still a large part of rural and white california that is right wing
I'm well aware of all this. Grew up in California, lived in Oregon, now live in Washington.
Yes, like other americans, the rural voters in these states run conservative, the urban voters run liberal.
And, as in an increasing number of states, there are more urban voters than rural.

Alas, of the many reasons why the west coast won't secede, the military presence in the Puget Sound is very high on the list. No one here is interested in fighting another Civil War, and the feds would never let us go without a physical fight.
Just as well, I'm not a secessionist fan. I guess I'm perverse, but I just LOVE living here and poking fun at pompous conservatives when they're running the government.
