I was just going to say that John McCain is the only half way decent Republican out there
When it came time to reveal his true character in 2008, McCain had to pull the microphone from that poorly misinformed woman before she could finish her statement about Obama being an "Arab" and told her, "No, ma'am. He's a decent family man [and] citizen that I just happen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues and that's what this campaign's all about. He's not [an Arab]."
At least he had the guts to put country over party rhetoric.
I'm hoping he is but he hasn't done enough so far.

The only correct thing I have heard McCain say in years is that Obama was not an Arab. He was right about that and right to correct the woman. Otherwise, I think these days he lacks integrity and is an establishment backstabber of the worst kind unfortunately. Not sure if it is just age or his 'true character' as you were speaking of .. which seems a mite different from where I sit these days.
Republicans who were once against Trump have now fallen in line. That's impossible in today's Republican Party- to find a Republican who puts country over party. It gets to a point where they circle the wagons against anything that the party doesn't want and speak as one, as a party.
Ok, thanks, I forgot about McCain. Yes, he is one person in the GOP who has had the integrity and courage to speak out for the truth. I like McCain, not only for his war record, but for the class he showed during the time he was running against Obama. He could have taken the easy shots at Obama, but he actually spoke out about Obama being a good family man and an American.
