From what I have heard, this is part 1 of 3 pieces of legislation.

And it should be about making the best plan that gives people the choice to choose their own care while being sustainable... instead of pitting one side against another.

This is one of the things people complained about for ACA and the new plan doesn't fix it.

Another big complaint of ACA was the essential coverage that was forced on a policy - mental health, reproductive care, etc. Looks like the GOP plan keeps these same essential coverages, which many complained that it helped drive up the cost of the premium.
So, I'm left to wonder what the "good parts" of the plan are:

Tax cuts for higher income earners? That might benefit me, so YAY, but not so good for others.
No mandate: Okay, that's great for people who don't want to participate but now we are back to people being willfully uninsured and then not paying their bills when life happens.

It's the one thing, maybe the lone thing, Democrats have an edge over the GOP on at this point. And that is this:

All Democratic voters and at least a certain percentage of GOP voters don't want to see people who got insured to go back to not being insured.

It's that simple. The media and politicians don't know this because well...they aren't from this planet.

If that happens it can give the Dems some leverage provided they tone down their SJW crap that EVERYONE hates.

Get that thru your thick skulls Dems.

I think I'll root for people to get screwed because those most at risk, poor, rural, and poorly educated are never going to learn unless they feel the consequences of their actions. Voting for Trump has consequences.

So I don't believe this will pass in Congress. Do you think for four year's this bill will be stalled between Old Party Republicans, Modern Republicans, Centrist, and Socialist Democrats?

It's been proven that getting regular check ups is cheaper than waiting for the emergency.

Yes, they can. They can pass the bill they have under a budget reconciliation that requires only a majority vote. They will never get a phase 2 or phase 3 though without the nuclear option. This bill is a disaster for Trump's demographic and Dems will never lift a finger to let them out of the mess they made with it. Think the town halls have been rowdy? Just wait.

Then HOW are we ALL not jumping up and down for joy on this.

I don't have insurance. I don't need it. The sooner I can stop being penalized for that, the better.

I STILL get refunds...

being in good health is a temporary state for 100% of humans. We have yet to find a single person who has managed to find a way around this.

Healthcare is about managing that risk. We have a 100% certainty of death. Todate. You don't know when your major events will first occur. Your failure to appreciate your real risk is the only reason you think not having insurance is a good move.

One does not insure for avoid paying one insures to avoid catastrophic risk. the rest of your insurance costs are really just smoothing out the payments.

Boy are you going be in for a big surprise, Ollie4. There is no guarantee that you will continue to have your health. What are you going to do when you can't get insurance to pay for your cancer treatments or your heart medication?
