You are aware that if you have a DUI in the US, you can be denied entry into Canada even for a quick weekend visit and even if you are not the driver of the entry vehicle.

We were denied entry to Canada for that exact reason.
The really sweet Canadian border crossing woman took us outside to show us how to make the U-turn around the border inspection station and while doing so, she told us (under her breath) to try another point of entry. We did and we were successful.
As far as this lovely young woman goes, I think its actually great that she put this situation out there because the US CBP needs to get in order.

Reason: bypassing the profanity filter
It sounds like the issue may have been with her trying to cross with the 3 guys in December twice, and it is our country and our border. I noticed the news woman tried to make it about her not being "white" and the young woman, herself, does not feel it was racial.
Her mother has been banned from the United States last year, maybe that is part of the "red" flag also.
Seems like this was justified. The young woman is just looking for clarification for what she needs to do to get it straightened out.
I don't see the problem here , the border security is doing their jobs. If a red flag popped up then it should not be ignored.
The last time I crossed the border was at Niagra Falls a few years back. I got into Canada easily and had a nice chat with the pretty Canadian border agent but coming back to the US I felt like I was given the third degree. The agent was a grump while 4 of his fellows stared me down and I'm an average middle aged white guy that was an obvious tourist!
But you know something besides being made to feel a bit uneasy those guys were just doing their jobs and trying to keep us safe. A sense of humor would have been nice but I guess it is not a requirement in the border guard hiring process.
In the end We have rules and laws and people need to follow them and stop being so angry at a President that chooses to enforce them.
She said she comes to the US frequently. If you do so, you need a Visa. I think it's 90 days.
A visa allows you to stay 180 days and befre that you most go out. and then you can enter again and go out.
