As a woman, I would not have moved until they drug me from the plane in handcuffs! I don't care who or what they were, their "specialness" would not have overrode my rights. Gosh, they must be on the edge all the time if they can't even sit by a woman or be served refreshments from a woman - cold shower?
Please elucidate. I wasn't aware that there are any muslim monks, anymore than there are jewish monks, for the same reason - both religions teach that every adult should be married and producing children.

Funny that it seems like the easy solution was ignored. If the Pakistanis were people of good will and of courtesy, the simple solution was to pay for the whole row, usually three seat, and not have to worry about anyone next to them, and to bring their own food, so as not to be served by anyone. Apparently they'd prefer to make a fuss.

Actually, there is an even easier solution. Don't defer to religious demands in a public space.
I don't care what religion those monks were. Religious people should not expect special treatment.
Of moslims on a plane don't want to be served by a female then they should either shut up and wait till the plane land and bring their own food or hire a private plane. Another option is to sit still and buy all the chairs in one row to avoid a female passenger.
