They should have gotten their asses kicked. It's freakin' New York City, for god's sake. You go out of your way to get in someone else's face and screw with their day, maybe make them late for work or whatever, and you're asking for a beating.
Find some other way to make your damned point. I'm all for protesting and freedom of speech, but who are you to infringe on the rights of people you know nothing about? If I need to get somewhere and you put yourself in front of my car, I am going to get out of my car and move you out of my way.
The protestors seemed to be shouting some slogan in Spanish near the end of the video. If any Spanish speakers could translate what they were shouting, that would be interesting.
