I've seen it both ways. Conservatives and Liberals both tend to prey on tax-illiteracy and will be dishonest about tax code if it benefits their cause. I'd be willing to wager that a number of congressional representatives couldn't tell you the difference between a 1065-B and a 1065-C off the top of their heads.
It's not really a partisan thing.
This. There are plenty of wealthy and influential democrats and republicans who both stand to gain at the expense of others. We have sluggish global growth... and we need to give more money to the "producers"? That shouldn't be a partisan issue, but an economic one.
I agree, politicians are given unfair retirement benefits for doing no work and get great tax benefits.
Although I actually agree with this, it has nothing to do with what I posted. Social Security is based on earnings. Anyway, most of it was from Bernie's wife's job.
If you were to increase the tax burden in order to raise revenue.... so far the boomers who as a group underfunded the private and public retirement... it would be on the "high income earners" over the traditional middle class. It's the middle class that creates significant demand, not the upper class.
It's the middle class that doesn't educate themselves on tax code (learning moves they can make to keep more of their money). Knowledge is power. Lack of knowledge allows you to be fooled by the swamp politicians.
Now that they've been proven wrong about Trump being a failed business man and not paying his "fair share", will they finally shut their mouths, or will they just come up with more demands? Or start another useless online petition?
Yes this "leak" of 2 pages from 12 years ago should shut every body up.
Intelligence has nothing to do with it. It's taking it upon yourself to learn tax code and to go to a professional to guide you in doing your taxes correctly. It's also knowing when to buy equipment or take losses (tax loss harvesting). You obviously don't have a grasp on the tax code and it sure isn't stopping you from making a fool of yourself.
I agree... intelligence doesn't have anything to do with it. You clearly didn't follow the conservation with the poster I was having.
You should know that the tax structure for a small business, say a LLC, is different than a multinational. That is, if you are an actual business owner. Where have I argued we need to get rid of section 179....
Are you just throwing crap at the wall and seeing what sticks?
