Hundreds of thousands is a relatively small number. Hundreds of thousands we could deal with. Plus, I don't think many illegals are coming over with the capital to start businesses right off the bat.

Well I think somewhere along the way we started demeaning hard work. It used to be most people graduated with a high school diploma and could find good honest work at the local factory, or went to trade school to be a plumber learn construction etc. Then at some point it was decided that everyone needed to go to college and schools put everyone on that path even if it was not the right path for them. Vocational training was deemphasized.. almost every high school in the 50s, 60s and early 70s had vocational programs.. so you could actually graduate high school with a marketable job skill.. not anymore. So now we have an overabundance of college graduates with degrees that are not marketable in the real world economy.. and a shortage of skilled labor.. tradesmen etc. The media and our culture in general demeans hard work.. somehow it is considered beneath a lot of the young people today to do hard work with one's hands. So kids go get a 4 year degree that ends up taking 6 years.. graduating with loads of college debt and no good paying job prospects. How many people with bachelors and even graduate degrees are working as baristas at starbucks? So it is no surprise that immigrants have filled the void. But then that creates a double whammy.. as more immigrants flood the market they drive down wages which further makes further makes these jobs even more undesirable to young Americans.

Just fine. I didn't have to turn on the TV and see La Raza folks saying they're entitled to be here.

The ever growing socialist tax load, administrative overhead, dead weight, and bureaucracy took their toll on the profitability of hiring American labor.
Ditto, for health care.
Too many "takers" in the food chain.
The remedy is politically incorrect - abolish socialism.
Reduce the Federal budget by 90% (or more).
Then there will be no economic advantage to hire "under the table." Nor would there be any benefit for having "anchor babies," etc, etc.

Most of the illegals from Latin America are manual labor or low skilled workers. The US has less and less of a need for that type of worker every year. Even harvesting crops is going to be done by machines in the near future.

If they come to the US they aren't going to be able to support themselves and then they're going to go on welfare. For some reason poor people have this incredible desire to pop out a lot of babies.

Any first world country does not want poor immigrants there's no benefit to it unless your country is rapidly expanding and building like the US was in the 1700's and 1800's.

Also the construction industry has more workers than it needs too many people flooding it drives the wages down. The agencies that hire temp contractors study all of that they know when they're in an area with a lot of starving immigrants that need work. They take advantage of them.

The service industry is also already overwhelmed with workers it's the industry that many kids in college work in and so on.

Moral of the story : The industries that many illegals work in, don't need any more workers. The only people that think so are the employers and temp agencies because they want more supply than demand. The job market is ruled by supply and demand.

I think you have it backwards. Americans use to do those blue-collared jobs for a fair wage before millions of cheap illegals flooded our border. It didn't help that our manufacturing jobs were outsourced also. Illegal aliens aren't "immigrants" anyway.

yea, why the Chinese built all the dams etc. Americans can make it with a few working immigrants like it used to be- temp season visas--
but GREED got in the way- they stop wanting to PAY and make more profits- for themselves.
I am from Miami- know a lot of people- one of the most awesome things to see - (I have a friend who is a design carpenter),
is the rows of yachts in Ft Lauderdale. I have been in them- millions of dollars to buy, millions just to upkeep and millions for gas and a crew. Businessmen own most- the marina can no longer hold the amount there is since I grew up. They may wear khakis in the Pennsylvania plant, but honey they blowing money like waterfalls in Hawaii. CHEAPOS for everything else --but living la vida loca... I know I have SEEN it

I am a middle class white person, and in my social circle, having children before 30 is almost unheard of. And having more than 2 is also rare. I am 29 and none of my friends or family around my age have had kids yet.
I dont know many people who want to give birth to the future janitors. And those who do pop out kids doomed for the low paying jobs are frequently so messed and crushed by their low status up they do not make good janitors. Basically status centered American society messes up entire groups of people and treat thems as disposables because fresh and eager immigrants, raised in somewhat saner environment, are readily available.
