I am no fan of planned parenthood, but they are a bargain compared to the alternative. The people complaining about it the most are also the ones who complain about the evils of welfare.
I don't think these congressmen that are proposing cutting out PP have the slightest idea of the requirements for Title IX under HHS, of course Tom Price can add a disqualifier that indicates not PP but that would be challenged in the courts.
Brilliant plan, Dr MJJersey. And what is this "contraception injection" that is 100% effective (for both genders?) against pregnancy and is non-hormonal based (and therefore, safe for everyone to take)?
Why so many restrictions? Only real women need to take it since they are the only ones who can get pregnant and have abortions. There are different contraception injections they can choose from (Depo-Provera, for example). If the person does not want the injection for whatever reason then they do not get Medicaid. And why does it need to be 100 percent effective? If it is 99 percent effective then we have reduced the problem by 99 percent. Sounds like a pretty good outcome to me.
"Cutting off federal funding for Planned Parenthood — a longstanding conservative goal that is included in the Republican bill to replace the Affordable Care Act — would reduce access to birth control for many women and result in thousands of additional Medicaid births, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
Because nearly half of all births nationwide are to Medicaid patients, and many of those babies are Medicaid patients themselves, the budget office estimated that defunding Planned Parenthood even for a year would increase Medicaid spending by $21 million in the first year, and $77 million by 2026."
Wondering what everyone else thinks of this. "No my child, not my problem" isn't going to cut it... we all pay one way or another, especially the babies who are born to parents who don't want them or aren't ready emotionally/financially to have a family...
You think PP is stopping babies born in the hood? That's funny.

So you want these people to re-apply for Medicaid every 3 months? That seems like a great idea, very practical.
