Could it be that government didn't put it in a lockbox or there were people who didn't contribute getting it?

There are always people who will work harder to scam the system than to work to pay their way.
Yes, we "hear" from the donor class puppets that SS and Medicare is broke and need to be eliminated? Why do the donor class puppets say this? Because they hate the programs. They are not means tested. Everyone who pays into the system benefits. This is unacceptable to the puppets in Congress. They are popular programs and there is no revolt going among the masses to eliminate them. Thats why the programs are hated by the donor class and why there are constant attempts to eliminate them by the big money donor class against the will of the middle class and poor.

Watch these elderly, who no longer get meals on wheels, end up in the hospital to receive nutritional assistance through tube feedings or the like. The cost of one hospitalization related to malnutrition would have covered a years meals for 50 of the elderly.

I have some business connections in Norway, and they already told me that benefits are being reduced subsequently.
Nonsense. Sweden and particularly Germany have had a strong public safety net for decades and immigrants as well. Germany started with mass immigration of muslims more than 50 years ago and they have the same system as they've always had. The economy is doing fine in both countries. Just more right wing scare mongering to try to convince working stiffs in America that New Deal programs like in Europe cant work in America.

They'll end up in assisted living places as well, with many on Medicaid.

Meals on Wheels and similar support programs are the direction we need to head with elder care. We simply cannot afford to provide assisted living facilities for so many aging people.

Maybe this will be a wake up call. Instead of all these patched-together programs, states could come up with their own umbrella program for caring for our elders from support with aging in place to pioneer homes.

Norway is already cutting their social net. Sweden might be as well. Until the last 10-20 years, Sweden was more than 90% Swede, maybe even 95%. Now it's declining fast, and they have to deal with other immigrant groups.

Just watch.

The arts doesn't put food on the table of hard working middle class people. It's comparative to something you might like but don't need.

Have you ever taken care of an elderly person? Where you had to do the care, the leg work, the finances? Believe me, you don't have a clue how bad and lacking the system is.

From what I've learned, it's a farce. Middle class, you better get saving every penny you can because you'll be out on the street, but no worries, if you've been on the dole all or most of your life, you'll be fine, the middle class tax money will take care of you.

I'm serious, I say this out of experience from trying to get a once middle class person who fell into poverty help. Don't let liberals and leftist politicians tug at your heart strings. The middle class needs to take care of their own and their own future because you're on your own.

Totally agree. The more programs states have in place to facilitate the elderly to stay in their homes, the more tax payers will save.

The problem Republicans have is lack of vision and the ability to see the big picture. They would put in place a budget that saves a dime immediately only to cost tax payers a dollar later.

Very true. They really do not care about anyone but themselves. These cuts prove it which is why I will never respect these people ever again. Never. They hurt the elderly and children and celebrate it, pat themselves on the back as good 'Muricans. They aren't clueless, just totally selfish.
